I AM NOT RUNNING GROUPON ADS AT THIS TIME. I WILL NOT HONOR GROUPON VOUCHERS

  • IF YOU SEE ANY OFFER THROUGH GROUPON FOR ME, IT IS A FRAUDULENT OFFER AND IN STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET A REFUND FROM THEM IMMEDIATELY

  • Groupon has indicated that they are only giving buyers 3 days from the purchase date to have refunds honored. My best guess is that they know you will not consider getting a refund in that 72 hour window

  • If the voucher expires, Groupon collects the entire amount for themselves. The service provider does not receive payment for any voucher unless they have done the work and redeemed the voucher.

  • Groupon will not honor expired vouchers for the service providers. The providers get nothing from expired vouchers. Groupon keeps 100% of your payment.

  • Groupon has been lying to everyone by using my old campaigns without my knowledge or permission The information or offers in the ads are incorrect or fraudulently offered by Groupon and not approved by me.

  • Groupon has not followed my written requests to pull all my campaigns from their system and not use them. Like you, I am unable to get a human being on a phone with customer service but must send email and hope someone responds to it. My emails and requests to discontinue their use of my ads continue to be ignored.

Did you know?

Groupon was taken over by new parties who are secured outside the USA and since this, there have been many growing issues with the questionable ethical practices of Groupon. Here's what the merchants are deaiing with and why you are seeing less of your favorite merchants advertising with groupon.

  • Groupon takes 50% of the promotion offer from the top. This means that an offer discounted to $50 for you is actually $25 dollars being paid to the merchant. If groupon adds an additonal juicy discount to entice you to buy, the merchant is now only getting 50% of THAT new price. Merchants are not informed or asked permission to have additional discounts added to anything they offer. Groupon makes that decision without their knowledge or permission

  • Example: Original discounted offer is $50.00 for you. Groupon takes 50% of that and the merchant only receives the remaining $25. Groupon then decides to add an additonal 25% off the original discounted price. What was $50 is now $37.50 and Groupon will take 50% of that, They will only pay the merchant the remaining 50% after their additional discounting. End result, now the merchant is only getting paid $18.75 for the service. If you use Groupon, understand how this works and tip your merchants well or consider asking them about discounts offered in person.

  • Groupon will often re-write the ads and NOT tell the merchant that they re-wrote them or what has been changed. I have (personally) seen my ads rewritten in ways that offered and promised things I NEVER said or offered in my original campaign. I have demanded Groupon return my ads to their original writing and offers and only received occasional cooperation. I cannot have them write ads in a way that make fraudulent offers under my name and no merchant should be dealing with this. As a result, I have discontinued working with them.

  • Taxes: for anyone considering being a merchant advertising through groupon on, what you need to know for tax purposes is this. When they send you a form to report your taxes at end of the year, they will send you a form that lists ALL your offers at the whole price originally set and NOT the price that is paid to you after Groupon takes their money from your sale. This means if your original discounted offer was $50, that is what is listed on this form as income for you and will NOT reflect the fact that you only received $25 (or less after additional discounting by them) from their payout to you. You will be footing the entire taxable amount and not the actual amount they paid you.

If you like Groupon and their promotional campaigns by merchants has value to you, continue using them but please understand the situation the merchants are in with them.

  • Do not rip off the merchant or try to hustle them because you are hurting them, not Groupon. And honestly, what kind of bottom feeding scumbag would rip a merchant off for the equivalent of $40 or less they are getting paid?

  • Tip your merchant well if they are a service provider. Remember, the price you paid groupon is NOT what they are actually getting paid.

  • Consider asking if the merchant has their own promotions or if you can buy the promotional discount in person.

  • Be nice to your merchants. They are trying to make an honest living and NOT take advantage of you. Value that.
