Due to an injury, I am only offering myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and hypnosis services until October.

Meet your therapist, Jennie

Hello there! My name is Jennie and I facilitate healing and wellness through massage and education about your body and its conditions.

My father's suffering is what moved me to pursue healing arts. After watching my father suffer terribly with multiple health issues and physical deteriorations (he was a wheelchair bound, bilateral amputee military veteran who seemed to be a frequent practice patient for medical interns and residents at the VA Hospital), I wanted to believe that there had to be a better way.

Before he died, he was another statistic in polypharmacy complications and our kitchen counter was lined with his multiple medications. Medications that never made a meaningful improvement in his condition or his pain for a variety of reasons.

Because of my experiences living with him and helping to care for him, I wanted to do more with my life than just make a paycheck so I could make a comfortable life for myself. I wanted to make things better for people.

I tell my clients that I went into massage therapy because I hate math and I can't afford medical school.

My first step was to transition from a CNA to nursing school but my father died in the middle of my academic program. (I would move on and get my board certification as a paramedic and return later to attempt finishing my nursing education only to realize that both were a less than ideal fit for me on multiple levels.)

My most immediate and accessible path after my first attempt at nursing school then became massage therapy. I received my license to practice in 2004.... and after this continued to pursue more medical education and specialized training because I wanted to know more than massage school taught me and I wanted respect, not more racist insults about Asians.

After all my forays into other professions, I have returned here and discovered that the most important thing I give people is not just pain relief but patient education.

All my education in massage, traditional medical fields and even personal fitness training allows me to give patient education in ways that massage (or the other professions) aren't able to.

This is more than a massage. This is also an opportunity to learn about your body and how to take care of it better when problems arise. The massage is pretty fantastic, don't get me wrong but if you want someone to explain things to you - this is where you want to be. I always have time to answer a question while I am working on you.

My list of credentials is a bit long and varied but is a result of 20+ years of always trying to improve myself with meaningful knowledge and skills. A short version of my CV follows:
